Rent: Pottery Bat System
Bat System Rental (30cm Wheelhead, Lee tools bat system with 5 Bats)
Curious about using a bat system when throwing on the wheel, but not quite ready to commit to purchasing one? This rental is ideal for potters who want to experiment before modifying their wheelhead — or for those renting a pottery wheel from Potter&dabble and keen to experience the efficiency of throwing on bats.
We’ve partnered with Lee from Memento Mori Ceramics in Cambridge, NZ, who has designed and manufactured this custom bat system.
Included in your rental:
- A 30cm aluminium wheelhead with pre-drilled and installed bat pins
- Lee Tools bat system with 5 x reusable plastic bats
- Free fitting if you’re renting one of our Nidec Shimpo Whisper-T wheels
Who it’s for:
→ Potters renting a wheel from us who want to try a bat system
→ Potters who already own a Shimpo wheel and want to test a bat system before committing to drilling their wheelhead or buying
Why use a bat system?
It makes switching between pieces on the wheel quick and easy — just lift off the bat, pop on a new one, and keep throwing. It’s a great option if you’re making multiple items or want to protect freshly thrown work while continuing at the wheel.
Fits: All Nidec Shimpo pottery wheels (Whisper-T, RK-3D, etc.). Please note: This system has been designed specifically for use with Nidec Shimpo wheels. Using it with any other brand or model may damage the equipment and is not covered by our rental terms & conditions. If you're unsure whether it will suit your wheel, just get in touch — we're happy to help
Price: $10 per week | Add this onto your wheel rental or rent it separately
Pickup only from our studio at Dairy Flat, Alkd (unless added to a pottery wheel rental delivery)
