A little bit of inspiration

Often our renters ask for ideas and suggestions of what to make on the wheel. The easiest place to show step by step instructions is over our our Instagram page.

Not into instagram, no worries, a summary of suggestions are as follows. This will keep growing, so please pop back and check. If you have ideas on what I should make on the wheel, please email them through to louise@potteranddabble.co.nz

Every month we will also be selling a new sample of clay boxes. Great opportunity to test out different clays, without committing to purchasing a large 10kg bag.

Cocktail Rim Dish

Sprinkle the citrus mix around, and pop the lemons or lime in the middle, and your all set.

Clay - I used Flecked Stoneware by Potclays. Glazed in abbots White, brings through a random selection of black flecks

Weight: Around 450g depending on the final size you require. I try and reach a diameter of  18cm. Shrinks to around 16cm - depending on clay. Ensure you use a bat otherwise you will struggle to take this straight of the wheelhead.

A mini Bud Vase

These take practice as you need to be able to 'pull the cylinder', plus bring the top rim together.

Clay: Flecked Stoneware by Potclays

Weight: 400g

Slow Feeding Cat Bowl

These are fun to make, especially for those still struggling to 'pull a cylinder'.

Clay: Chris's light clay

Weight: 600g - 700g depending on your required final size and how many ridges you are after
