Setting yourself up to make pottery at home doesn’t need to mean buying everything at once. Sometimes you just need a bag of clay, a few useful tools and a wheel ready when you are.

Our beginner tool sets are exactly that—a useful place to begin.

They include the basic tools you need to get started, along with a few extra pieces I’ve added to make the sets more useful. They aren’t intended to become your forever tool collection. They’re an affordable way to start making at home while you discover which tools you use most and what you may want to invest in later.

Alongside the sets, you’ll find a few of my favourite little wooden shaping tools. They’re simple tools, but often the ones I reach for when shaping curves, smoothing edges and tidying up little details.
