Practice between pottery classes

Taking a pottery course and loving your time on the wheel?

A pottery class is a lovely way to learn — with a tutor nearby, a studio around you, and a set time each week to focus on clay. If you’d like to keep practicing between classes, renting a pottery wheel at home can gently support what you are learning.

It is not about replacing your class. It is about giving yourself more time with clay between sessions.

A lovely fit for 8–10 week pottery courses

Many pottery courses run over a school term, often around 8 to 10 weeks. A longer pottery wheel rental can work beautifully alongside your course, giving you time to practice at home while still learning in the studio.

Your class remains the place to ask questions, get feedback and learn new techniques. Your home wheel time is a chance to slow down, repeat, and build confidence.

It can be helpful for practicing:

centering clay

opening and pulling walls

making repeated forms

throwing cups, bowls or small vases

trimming pieces

getting more comfortable on the wheel

Choose a rental period that suits your course

You can rent a pottery wheel for a shorter block or keep it for longer to match your course dates.
