Our two main gift experiences are below. But we are always creating new ones, so please get in touch if you are looking for something a little different. 

A pottery wheel at home

A thoughtful Gift for Mother's Day

Imagine arriving home to find a pottery wheel set up and ready to use — a quiet space to create, unwind, and enjoy time on the wheel.

This can be organised as a surprise, with everything set up and ready to go — or as a gift voucher to be redeemed later, when the timing suits. Each gift voucher is beautifully packaged in a small gift box and includes 600g of shrink-wrapped clay — something to unwrap on the day and perhaps create straight away!

Pickup is from our studio in Dairy Flat, or get in touch if you would like it delivered and setup at home.

We can take you through how the wheel works, and organise clay and tools if required, so it’s easy to get started at home.

Gift a Studio Experience

Three quiet hours.
Conversation.
Concentration.
Something made from scratch.

Our studio experiences are our most popular gift — often chosen by partners, or by anyone wanting to share a creative afternoon with a parent or grandparent.

This can be organised to take place on your special day, or as a gift voucher to be redeemed later. Each gift voucher is beautifully packaged in a small gift box and includes 600g of shrink-wrapped clay — something to unwrap on the day and perhaps create straight away!

For someone who has thrown on a pottery wheel before

Studio Experience for One - $75: A 3 hour quiet, personal session in our light-filled studio, just for yourself — time to focus, practise, or simply enjoy being on the wheel

Studio Experience for Two - $105: A shared 3 hours session - a relaxed way to spend time together and create side by side.

Optional add on:
• Private tuition → $70 per hour
• Additional Clay → $14 (2kg)

Coffee and tea included, as well us use of our studio tools & equipment

For someone completely new to pottery, please add a 3 hour private tuition to the above experiences.

Gift Voucher Summary

• Valid for 12 months from date of purchase
• Can be used toward studio experiences, wheel rentals or approved add-ons
• May be used as full or partial payment
• Bookings are subject to availability
• Standard rental terms apply for wheel bookings
• Not redeemable for cash
• One extension may be requested prior to expiry
• For wheel rentals, the person using the equipment must accept our rental terms and provide valid identification (drivers license + proof of address) and a credit card for a security deposit (this is a hold on your credit card of $300 prior to pickup or delivery.
• The person taking possession of the equipment is responsible for its care during the rental period

1. Definitions

“Customer” means the person named on the Gift Voucher and entitled to redeem it.

“Purchaser” means the person who purchases a Gift Voucher from POTTER&DABBLE LTD.

“Gift Voucher” means a physical or digital voucher issued by POTTER&DABBLE LTD that may be redeemed for eligible products or services.

2. Use of Gift Vouchers

A POTTER&DABBLE LTD Gift Voucher may be redeemed toward:

  • Studio Experiences
  • Pottery Wheel Rentals
  • Clay, tools or approved add-ons
  • Other eligible services as determined by POTTER&DABBLE LTD

Gift Vouchers are not limited to a specific wheel type or fixed rental duration unless explicitly stated at time of purchase.

Gift Vouchers may be used as full or partial payment toward a booking. Any balance remaining must be paid at time of booking.

Gift Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

We encourage recipients to book in advance as availability may be limited during peak periods.

3. Booking Process

Studio Experience bookings must be made directly with POTTER&DABBLE LTD.

Wheel rentals may be:

Booked directly through the website (with a note indicating voucher use), or

Arranged directly via [email protected]

All bookings are subject to availability.

Standard consumer rental Terms & Conditions apply to all wheel rental bookings. The person taking possession of the equipment (whether the Purchaser or the Gift Voucher recipient) is required to accept these terms prior to pickup or delivery.

This includes providing valid identification (such as a driver’s licence and proof of address) and a credit card for a security deposit. The $300 deposit is held as a pre-authorisation on your card  and is released once the equipment is returned in good condition. If the card cannot be authorised, the rental cannot proceed

4. Expiry & Extensions

The expiry date is printed on the Gift Voucher.

If the Gift Voucher is not redeemed within the 12-month validity period, the Customer may apply for a one-time extension by emailing [email protected] no later than 1 month prior to expiry.

Extension requests must include:

  1. The reason for the extension request
  2. The voucher reference number
  3. The expiry date

Extensions are granted at the discretion of POTTER&DABBLE LTD.

If no contact is made prior to expiry, the voucher will be considered expired and invalid.

5. Refunds & Cancellations

Gift Vouchers are not redeemable for cash.

If a booking made using a Gift Voucher is cancelled and a refund is applicable under our cancellation policy, the portion paid using the Gift Voucher will be reissued as a Gift Voucher. It will retain the original purchase date.

Gift Vouchers cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.

Refunds are not available for change of mind after purchase.

6. Restrictions

Gift Vouchers:

  • Cannot be used to purchase another Gift Voucher
  • Cannot be re-sold or transferred for commercial or promotional purposes
  • Remain the property of POTTER&DABBLE LTD

POTTER&DABBLE LTD reserves the right to refuse any Gift Voucher that appears altered, defaced or used fraudulently.

7. Purchase & Payment

Gift Vouchers may be purchased by contacting [email protected] or via the website form.

Payment methods accepted:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • Bank transfer

Gift Vouchers are issued once full payment has been received and confirmed.

All prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include GST unless otherwise stated.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by New Zealand law, POTTER&DABBLE LTD:

  • Excludes liability for indirect or consequential loss
  • Limits liability to the re-supply of goods or services or the cost of re-supply

Nothing in these terms limits rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

9. Privacy

POTTER&DABBLE LTD collects and handles personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

10. Consumer Rental terms and conditions 

The potter&dabble consumer rental terms and conditions apply to all rental, even those purchased via a potter&dabble gift voucher.
